Water filter for the back of my fridge?

OK Maybe I am just dumb, but all i want is a water filter that connects to the water line that runs to my fridge. A copper wire runs from under the sink to the back of the fridge connects to a white tubing that feeds the water dispenser on the front of the fridge. I want to put a filter in between the copper and white tubing, but when I go to home depot or online there are like 1000 filters, i can not figure out what i need.

Water filter on fridge isn’t working, why?

My husband checked to make sure everything was attached and on, we looked in the manual and it said to press on dispenser lever for at least 2 minutes and if they doesn’t work, to change the filter cause it may be clogged. Well we tried all of them and needless to say they didn’t work. We took the NEW filter out again and that was filled with water…if the water line wasn’t working, would it still get to the filter? Any ideas or suggestions before I call the manufacturer or plumber? Thanks in advance.
YES, it is still making ice, just no water.
