Does my water filter take the flouride out of the city water?

water filter
caelon1974 asked:

I don’t want it to clean it that much. My teeth can use all the help they can get. Its a Brita filter says it will clean all out. What do you think.

Does the Brita filter always need to be in water?

water filter
blue asked:

I have a brita water filter and I followed the directions when I opened the filter and soaked it for 15 minutes and I have been filtering water for a couple months now. Do I still need to keep it soaked in water all the time now? I don’t always remember to fill it up so I was just wondering if it was unhealthy or not good or something…

What is the optimum time to replace a standard Brita water filter?

water filter
ackmondual asked:

I used to replace my filter every 2 months as suggested on the box. Currently, I’m using the same filter since middle of March ‘07, so I’m running about 5 months now. Now that I’ve noticed it, the box actually says “2 months OR 40 gallons” for best results. 2 months is definately long due, but i’ve been keeping a tally, and I’ve consumed about 85% of the 40 gallons (I get ALOT of water where I work since there’s a water cooler/filter there, and unlike the box which assumes a family of 4 as typical use, I’m single).

Assuming the stated capacity of the filter hasn’t been reached yet, should the 2 months be aboslute, or would you say there’s some leeway there? If the latter, how often do you think it’s best to replace the filter to keep possible bacteria and gunk that may build up due to long times of filter use out, while not wasting any extra $$ throwing away filters that could’ve had “a few more miles”?
I use a Brita pitcher b/c that and the filters were provided for free from a family member. Didn’t know much of the other filters then

Is there a way to filter cheap vodka without a Brita Water Filter?

water filter
jguy asked:

Basically I’m so cheap that I can’t afford top shelf vodka or a Brita Filter (Note: I’m in college). So really I’m asking for a better, CHEAPER alternative to filtering vodka (assuming you believe in the whole cheap stuff thats filtered multiple times is just as goo as top shelf). Any sugestions would be great! Thanks!

What exactly does Brita or Pur filter out of water?

water filter
Trice asked:

I’ve been thinking about buying a pitcher to filter water but I’m wondering what exatlcy will it remove? Does it remove chlorine and flouride because that’s my main reason for buying one.
