Heyy. I got a sea monkey tank on Sunday for Easter and I put tap water in instead of bottled water. I then put in the water purifier that came with the sea-monkey packet. But, then I realized I was supposed to put bottled water in, so I didn’t put the sea monkey eggs in because I thought they would die. Well, today, I looked in the tank, and there was a tiny white speck with a little tail swimming and doing somersaults. Now, there other mini white specks, too. But, I didn’t put the eggs in!! Was there something in the water purifier?? Thanks in advance for your answers–they are appreciated!! =^)
It looks like a sea monkey, I could see it has legs, but is it possible that it could be just by putting in the water purifier?? Thanks!! =^)

In my one gallon tank, I added Aqua Safe fish purifier and I read on a website that Iodized salt is needed too. I have replaced my tap water with bottled water and added a few squirts of my old SM tank water. I added about 3-4 normal spoon fulls of Iodized salt. With the SM water purifier. Is this safe? I added two SM to see how they would reacted and one is currently “jerking” around the other is just swimming. This is my second attempt for this tank meaning second attempt in the water department. I added two SM last night and when I woke up, One was just about dead the other was just barely sticking in there. Instead of getting 10 to12 packets of SM purifier, I want to use something else. So is Iodized salt and Aqua Safe fish purifier alright for my SM?
I also have a fish air pump but the funny thing is when the SM come to check it out, it gives them a ride to the top.
Response to the first answer. The SM are swimming normally like they were in the Mars tank. I’m kind of being a nerd here. I’m raising SM in my Mars tank than testing my new tank. I keep a close eye on them so they don’t die. My second attempt is going along fine. I’ll wait a nother couple hours to see how they are. I’m thinking about buy a Salt PH tester at Wal-Mart. I heard 7 normal spoon fulls for every gallon of water. I added half that. My only concern is the “jerking” they are doing in the new tank. They did it when I just added it but they seam to not be doing it as much. Anyways, I’ll keep posting if anything happens.
Response to the second answer. No, I just took two SM from my tank and everything is fine. It’s been almost an hour since I put them in there. The temp is 70 F. I have a desktop lap on them, for now.
I just found like 20+ baby sea monkeys! In my new tank! If baby sea monkeys can survive in my new tank. Adults can too! Right?

I bought them from wal-mart and brought them home.I put the purifier in but I just couldn’t wait 24 hours so i put half of the eggs in that same day.the next day when I got home the sea monkeys had hatched so I put hte rest of the eggs in.6 days later i put the food in.some of the monkeys weren’t even moving.A couple of days later i didn’t see any monkeys.I thought the algae were the monkeys until i looked on the internet and saw what they looked like. There is nothing in my tank but green goowy stuff at the bottom. When i filled the tank up the first time i used bottled water but when the water level droped i used faucet water. But that was after the monkeys disappeared.Whats going on?

I just won a small goldfish at a carnival and although my friends told me it would die real fast I still kept it. Now it’s still alive and has been for about 6 hours since i got it from the carnival. Im wondering what kind of water i should use. Is it ok to put my goldfish in the Arrowhead bottled water without using any purifier?!!! And what food do they eat besides the store bought food?

I’m looking for a water purifier that will fit in my mini fridge. Any good products? I don’t want to have to buy bottled water every week! Also, are the pitchers good enough that they can filter bathroom sink water, or do I need to get the water elsewhere? : )
