Does the Brita filter always need to be in water?
blue asked:
I have a brita water filter and I followed the directions when I opened the filter and soaked it for 15 minutes and I have been filtering water for a couple months now. Do I still need to keep it soaked in water all the time now? I don’t always remember to fill it up so I was just wondering if it was unhealthy or not good or something…

December 25, 2007 | 4:26 AMYou can always look up their website or call the company to make sure if it needs to be or not..but I don’t keep mine wet 24/7 and I don’t have a problem with mine at all. Makes me wonder though if you are right.

December 28, 2007 | 6:13 AMI would say no. I have the brita pitcher and when i fill it up too much, to where the actual filter is submerged, the carbon particles break up and get into my water. I would say just keep it as dry as you can.
