Do most American people have water purifiers in their house?
A-Team asked:
I’m not from the U.S.A., that’s why I don’t know.
I heard that drinking untreated water that comes from the faucet is unhealthy.

May 9, 2008 | 11:38 PMI don’t. I live on a river though so the water we get through the tap is quite good. Just depends on what city you’re in.

but I won’t drink my faucet water anyway, purifier or not. bottled for my family, only!
I live near a lot factories and farms, too much junk seeping in the water here. It won’t harm ya, but it tastes disgusting.

May 14, 2008 | 9:13 PMI dont. We get our water right from the Niagara River, so i guess it depends on if there is water readily available in your area or not.

May 15, 2008 | 4:02 PMMost Americans do not have water purifiers in their homes. The standards for water purity in the United States are very good, so it is OK for people to drink tap water. In some places it may not taste very good, but it is free (enough) from harmful bacteria and toxins.
I have been fortunate enough to live in US cities where the water supplies were superior in taste, as well as being very clean.

May 17, 2008 | 7:21 PMFor the most part, water from a faucet is very safe to drink. At my house we use the refrigerator’s water dispenser for drinking water.

May 21, 2008 | 2:03 PMAll water goes through water softeners which takes out impurities, but generally, the water is perfectly safe and tastes fine anyway. Some cities have bad water, but not to many.
Some homes use water purifiers, but it’s normally not really needed.
