Avex asked:
I’m using a water filter for drinking which consist of a four stage catridge: activated carbon, silica sand, zeolite and mineral sand. Lately, I notice very small particles sentiment at the bottom of the mineral pot where the filtered water is stored. I believe this is from the filter catridge as there are large pores where the particles may pass through. Does this render the water unsafe for consumption?

I have replaced the lamp, but the electronic ballast keeps beeping. Is there a way to disconnect the alarm? I talked to a repair man who said that in many cases the alarms malfunction and he now often sells units without the alarms. I have a Sunlight Systems Sunburst water purifier (Sunlight Systems was apparently recently acquired by Siemens).

Jessica F asked: What do you guys think about Crystal Quest products? Is it one of the better ones or not?
Or what about the Water Filters at walmart- which one is better to go for?
(Just trying to decide which Water Filter is the best to use, for when I finally do buy one.)
(I wont to get a Water Filter to get rid of all the bad things that we end up drinking from our tap water.(miniscule amounts of drugs, chlorine, lots of iron, Fluoride, nitrate, rust, ETC!)

Minime637 asked: Hello, i am wondering if anyone knows how to build a basic water filter that works moderately to extremely well.
If it can be made on a low budget and from easy to find materials that would be great.
Thanks
Sorry, i forgot to mention that i just need to build it and test it for a science project.
Thanks
Alonzo

Dave M asked:
I know if I make a natural water filter out of progressive stages (gravel, sand, rushes etc) these get better with time as the gaps are filled up and so the water is more finely filtered - however with my shop bought water filter they say I have to buy a new one every month - does not the same principal apply or is there some sort of chemical reaction going on too?

baby_rost asked: I have well water, and the iron in the water ruins everything.
Everything is red, the shower turns my hair orange red, and the tub red.
I am mostly interested in a shower filter. But I need something good and something that will help with the iron well water.

ngcolin asked: I am buying a house with two full baths and one half bath. the master bath comes with jacuzzi jet.
The town water is yellowish, with sediment, and rust in the hot summer month.
How much does it cost to get licensed plumber to out in a whole house sediment filter for the water supply ?
