Forward Decimal asked:

My home is very new (made within 2 years) and when we moved in i noticed that located in the basement where the main water valve is, there is some kind of ticking timer system connected via a tube to a large plastic container that is filled with water and at the bottom of this container you can see some kind of white-ish gray sand….I cant figure out what it does and if that sand looking substance is some kind of material that it is…..My guess is some kind of Water Purifier system for the entire home? Can someone give me some ideas on what is going on here? My area is in a modern city where water is very clean already so i am confused what the need for a water purfier is for my area at all…if it is a water prufier at all…

thanks

Javier

I was given an Equinox EQ-15 water filter with no instructions. I can remember installing one about 10 years ago but I forgot how long to flush it.

I am trying to get my family off bottled water. How do I know what needs to be filtered from my tap water in the first place? I don’t know what kind of pipes we have or what condition they’re in because we rent this place.

On a Culligan Soft-water purifier (silver series), what does regeneration interval mean, technically?

water purifier
john_dove asked:

Specifically, which of these possibilities does it mean:

1. the time period *of* the regeneration? (i.e. how *long* the regeneration lasts)
2. OR, the time period *until* regeneration occurs? (i.e. the time *between* regenerations)

(the culligan owners manual is bad a defining this. )
