DO they save money like for example, if i buy a gallon of water each day.. would it cost me more to buy a gallon each day at the store for a dollar… or have one of those water purifier systems????

    They definitely save money — you can get a lot more water for your dollar with a filter than you can buying it at the store. And the filters I’ve used work pretty well, as long as you change them often enough.

    The drawbacks are convenience related rather than economical. Some people just don’t want to go to the trouble of filling up pitchers of water from the tap and waiting for them to get cold in the fridge… or they don’t want to stand there waiting while their glass fills (water comes out of the filter more slowly than out of the regular tap). But these are picky concerns, and will only matter if you need a *really* convenient life.
